Our group dwarfed by one of the two hundred and fifteen operational wind turbines at Whitelee Windfarm
A brief discussion takes place at one of the many junctions on our walk.
Our morning break was at the highest point on the walk. The 309m summit of Blackwood Hill
Dunwan Hill.
This is the site of a later prehistoric fort or defended settlement. It was probably occupied in later prehistory between around 1200 BC and AD 400.

The Lochgoin Monument
This monument was erected in memory of John Howie (1753 – 1793) His forebears were strong Covenanters, and their home was often searched by dragoons. John Howie wrote The Scots Worthies, a detailed history of many of the notable Covenanters and ministers of the period, published in 1775.
