Alloa Tower which we passed soon after starting our walk
This early 14th-century tower house is now owned by the National Trust for Scotland.

The rain, which had threatened us all day, eventually started as we crossed the Gartmorn Dam
This dam was constructed in the 17th Century to power drainage pumps at a local mine but was later used to supply drinking water to Alloa.
The path back to Alloa followed the Brothie Burn through a pleasant wooded glen
