As we climbed above Loch Lomond we had a view towards the hills above Luss

 

We stopped for a break at the viewpoint on Knockour Hill

 

After leaving the woodland behind we climbed a small hillock to appreciate the view

Balloch Castle

Built in 1808 using stone from the original 13th century Balloch Castle of which only a mound near Loch Lomond and a depression, once the moat, remain.

 

Returning through Balloch Country Park to the River Leven
