Our morning break was taken on a small hillock below Carneddans Wood
We walked along the north side of Lucifer’s Loch to Dunellan – a hill named on only a few maps – but which provided a view over Jaw Reservoir to the confluence of the River Cart and the River Clyde
We had lunch on Dunellan – hoping for an improvement in the weather

Our return route took us along the south side of Lucifer’s Loch. The cairn we visited, on our outward trek, can be seen on the left of the picture
As we returned the cloud lifted slightly and we had a view of Dumgoyne
