Due to high winds when we reached the bealach between Beinn Ghlas and Meall Corranaich we decided not to climb Meall Corranaich but had an early lunch and returned to the start by our outward route
A long gentle climb took us to the bealach at the foot of Meall Corranaich
Sheltering behind a large boulder as we took our morning tea break and one member of our group checked the windspeed
Our intention had been to climb this hill, Meall Corranaich, but the wind was too strong and we had to turn back
Fortunately we were able to shelter from the wind for our lunch
The strong wind moved any cloud swiftly across the sky and the Allt a’ Chobhair glen was picked out by the sun while we had lunch
The 830m summit of Beinn Dearg is out of cloud but the adjacent 1028 m summit of Carn Gorm remains in the cloud. Ben Lawers, in cloud, can be seen on the extreme right of the picture
Unable to have a summit photograph we paused briefly in the wind at the bealach before returning to the car park
The 1028 m summit of Carn Gorm is now free of cloud
The weather improved as we headed south downhill but the strong wind remained
Here we have a glimpse of Loch Tay but Ben More and Stob Binnein, on the right of the picture, remain in cloud
As we neared the end of our walk we crossed the Burn of Edramucky
