Soon after leaving Auchinstarry Marina, we saw one of the sluice gates for draining sections of the canal for maintenance
This feeder channel takes water from Banton Loch to the summit level of the Forth and Clyde Canal

The Antonine Wall was commissioned by the Emperor Antonine and completed in 144AD
