The first walk in this winter’s snow was to Beinn an t-Sidhein above Strathyre
We had a view of Loch Lubnaig as we ascended An Sidhean but low cloud limited the view of the surrounding hills
A brief pause on the steady ascent of An Sidhean
On the summit of An Sidhean, the first of our three hills
Our group at the isolated gate between Beinn an Sidhein and Buachaille Breige
Is it a Faerie gate, an opening into the world of the fairies, or the remains of a long-abandoned boundary fence?
We encountered a second mystery on our walk as we descended from Beinn an t-Sidhean
Has this boulder been split by the freeze/thaw action of the climate or was it artificially split for some purpose?
The final descent from Buachaille Breige to the forest
The snow made the forest particularly attractive as we returned to the start of the walk
