This walk was not undertaken on a spring tide. Consequently, low tide was not as low as would be expected during a spring tide and there was insufficient time to reach the towers. The leader decided not to wait for low tide and the walk was abandoned when it became clear the water level was not dropping quickly enough to allow ample time to visit all the towers.
