Leaving Killin behind and ascending through mature woodland to the viewpoint
A steep climb but a wonderful view of Killin and Loch Tay
After the viewpoint we continued the steep climb to the summit of Sron a’ Chlachain
At the summit we had our obligatory summit photograph
After an equally steep descent we approached the minor road in Glen Lochay
Our afternoon tea stop was at the ruined Finlarig Castle
Finlarig Castle is an L-plan tower-house built in 1629 by 'Black' Duncan Campbell of Glenorchy. It was one of many strongholds built in Argyll and Perthshire by the Campbells of Breadalbane.
After visiting Finlarig Castle we continued our walk by walking along the west shore of Loch Tay
