The true size of Dumbuckhill Quarry could be seen from the top of Dumbowie Hill
The quarry, which supplies aggregates for the construction industry, has consumed much of Dumbuck Hill. Dumbuckhill was a volcanic plug, similar, in age (340 million years) and composition (basalt), to Dumbarton Rock and Dumgoyne.

After tea we started our 150m climb up the “Giant Steps” to the Lang Craigs

The remains of Dumbuck Hill can be seen on the left with the twin humps of "The Camel" otherwise known as Dumbowie Hill slightly to the right. Dumbarton Rock and the Barnhill self-catering accommodation can also be seen.

Finally, at the end of the walk we saw the Llamas/Alpacas kept at the Overtoun Llama Lodges
