Dollar and Glenquey - Four Hill Circular
A circular walk taking in Hillfoot, Commonedge, and Seamab Hills before returning alongside Glenquey Reservoir.

The walk started from Dollar Glen Car Park, up a steep hill, towards a beautiful blue sky and hill tops covered with a dusting of snow
Our group of 14 soon reached our first hill, Hillfoot Hill. Some evidence of logging activities and residual snow can be seen at the top of the hill
An easy short stroll downhill towards Commonedge Hill with Glenquey Reservoir in the distance
Hill number 2, Commonedge Hill, a rather flat and featureless hill but everyone is still smiling
What is better than 2? This is hill number 3, Seamab Hill. Bagged another hill before lunch time. What a strong team!
With all the hills behind us we descended from Seamab Hill and walked past Glenquey Reservoir
Towards the end of our walk we passed Castle Campbell
An impressive and picturesque building in a beautiful position, Castle Campbell was built where the Burns of Care and Sorrow join, overlooked by Gloom Hill, and was originally known as Castle Gloom or Castle Glume. The old stronghold is reached either by a winding road or through Dollar Glen by the side of the burn with a scenic waterfall.
Dollar Glen’s deep gorges are formed by the Burn of Care and the Burn of Sorrow.
There are a significant number of different species of mosses and liverworts in the glen. Nearly every surface is covered in a rich array of textures and colours.
