It was raining as we set off from the pier on Loch Katrine
The weather forecast had predicted showers and we could see better weather ahead as we looked down Loch Katrine
We had a brief, standing-up, tea break at one of the viewpoints overlooking Loch Katrine
Ben Venue, which remained clear of cloud for most of our walk, can be seen in the background
We returned to the loch side along a pleasant path through mixed deciduous woodland and crossed several small streams
We had lunch on the shore of Loch Katrine at Ruinn Dubh Aird with a view over to Ben Venue
As we finished lunch we were treated to this fine rainbow
We returned to the Loch Katrine pier where the steam ship SS Sir Walter Scott was moored
Sir Walter Scott is a steam powered, screw driven vessel built in 1900 at Dumbarton and transported by barge up Loch Lomond. She was dragged by horse-drawn cart up the steep hill from Inversnaid and then overland to Stronachlachar at the west end of Loch Katrine where she was re-assembled and launched.
Finally, at the end of the walk, we climbed to the Loch Katrine scenic tower for this view down the loch to Beinn Chabhair
